Learner and guardian records
One record per learner, with guardians, class and admission details. Import from a spreadsheet.

Demo
Opero is a school management system built and hosted in Kenya. It keeps learner records, attendance, fees, results and bus runs in one place. Anyone can watch the short demo on this page with no login. A school that wants to test it can then use NURU, a practice school filled with made-up learners, with the demo parent and driver logins we send you.
In the film, Monday starts badly at Nuru Junior School: the register is on paper, a parent paid but the fee book says she did not, a teacher is retyping last year’s exam, and Brian is asleep on the bus. Then Monday is run again with Opero. Every child is signed off the bus by name and the guardian confirms, and a child who boarded but was never signed off is flagged. Fees arrive by M-Pesa with a receipt in the books, and a receipt is never deleted, only reversed with a reason. A teacher ticks the topics she has taught, adds the school letterhead, and Opero drafts the exam and the marking scheme to check, fix, approve and print. Each parent sees only their own child’s marks and report card. Opero is hosted in Kenya, your data is yours and can be exported any time, and it costs KSh 250 per learner per term.
No login is needed to watch. The film is a cartoon set at Nuru Junior School; the product screens we show are from NURU, a practice school with made-up learners.
One record per learner, with guardians, class and admission details. Import from a spreadsheet.
Mark the register by class and see who is absent.
Fee structures, invoices, receipts and statements. M-Pesa and bank import are built; a school’s own payment credentials are set up during onboarding.
Enter or import marks, publish results, and produce report cards.
Parents sign in with their phone number to see their child and acknowledge arrival.
Each person sees only what their role allows, and important actions are recorded.
Staff records and payroll runs. Your school supplies its own tax rates.
Opero connects the driver, the guardian and the school in one transport workflow. It strengthens accountability and follow-up. It does not promise safety.
In development: parent alerts by SMS, WhatsApp or email, and a verified record that the vehicle is back at school.
We are building a teacher tool to draft exam papers for review. It is not available yet, and nothing on this page shows it. Marks entry, results and report cards are available now.
Watch the demo (no login). Want to test it yourself? Use school code NURU with the demo parent and driver logins we send you. Everything in NURU is made up.

No. The video plays for anyone. Logins are only for testing: ask for them and you get a parent login and a driver login for NURU, a practice school with made-up learners. No real child is in it.
Not yet. Alerts are in development. Today a parent opens the parent portal to see and acknowledge a drop-off.
No software can. Opero strengthens accountability: every drop-off is recorded, the guardian acknowledges arrival, and a run cannot be closed while a learner is unaccounted for unless an authorised person records a reason.
Exam generation is coming soon. It is not available to try today.
